Step 1: Deep Cleansing
- 1 tablespoon honey: Cleans and adds moisture.
- 1 tablespoon canned cranberry sauce: Fruit acids remove dead skin, shrink pores, and brighten skin tone.
- ½ teaspoon cornmeal: Gently exfoliates.
Combine all ingredients and apply to your wet face, then let stand for 3 minutes. To exfoliate, lightly scrub the mask into your skin using wet fingers, then remove with warm water and a washcloth.
Step 2: Moisturize
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh parsley: An antibiotic that combats lurking germs.
- 1 teaspoon very hot water to release the parsley's benefits.
- 1 tablespoon light olive oil: The acidic quality of the olive oil will shrink pores; it also locks in moisture without causing breakouts)
Combine the parsley and water in a small bowl. Add the oil, and mix well. Apply to your moist face with your fingers, then let stand for 3 minutes. Remove by blotting with a soft, dry cloth.
If you want, follow up with your regular make up application. Or if it's nighttime, apply the oil mixture a little more heavily, and leave it on for a deep, all-night moisturizer.
