When we speak of people who are fashion victims, this could refer to someone who makes such a hash of dressing themselves that they simply look ridiculous while attempting to look chic. Alternatively, the term could just as easily refer to people who become slaves to every fad or trend the fashion world throws at them, spending money on the latest style regardless of how stupid it might look.
Did I Really Wear That?!
Some people just have no concept of what style is and obviously see in the mirror, something totally different from what everyone else sees. It is only when they take an embarrassing look back at old photographs do they realize just how foolish they actually looked while trying to pursue the latest fashions. Whether it is the hairstyle, the shoes, the clothes or the make-up, their trip down memory lane via the photograph album is cringeworthy.
The chances are that some of these people did at least mange to dress themselves at a relatively low cost and so when the time arrived to dump their so-called fashion items in the trash where they belong, it was no great financial loss. However, for the real fashion victims, those who have obviously got more money than sense, they pay a very high price at times to look ridiculous. When the latest fashion designers come up with their latest creations, there are always going to be victims, that is, those who will pay an arm and a leg for the latest gear.
Are You a Fashion Slave?
Fashion is ultimately about individuality and although there are general standards of fashion that are observed by various age groups, there is no need to become a slave of fashion gurus. Looking at how some of these fashion experts are dressed is enough to have you questioning their credentials for offering advice to others on how to look good. Don't become a victim to the fashion world by throwing away money on clothes and accessories that are no better than the cheaper lines on offer in department stores.
This slavery to fashion often begins at an early age with children demanding, not necessarily clothes and shoes that look good, but those that carry the names and logos that are considered "cool". The fact that some of those items might make them look ridiculous is of no concern as long as they have street cred among their peers. There are two basic ways to become a fashion victim. One is by lacking the ability to dress yourself in a fashion that suits you. The second is by far a greater problem, that of becoming a slave to the fashion world and throwing away good money on the say-so of people who are trying to make money.
